Apartment hunters should look into the Park Avenue Lofts located in the heart of Midtown. Amenities include a rooftop pool, walking distance to the grocery store and a 24-hour fitness center.
Looking for Little Rock’s sprawling center of activity, and the hub for retailers and large employers? You will find it in Midtown, where you’re never more than 15 minutes away from anything. Cantrell Road and Interstate 630 pass through Midtown, linking Downtown and West Little Rock.
Residential areas surround Midtown’s business centers with neighborhoods full of ranch-style and modern homes with big yards. Established in the 1950s, these areas are lush with landscaping, tree canopies and kids running around in front lawns. The neighborhood is nestled between The Heights and West Little Rock and somewhat blends with Cammack Village. Kingwood and Leawood, two popular neighborhoods within Midtown, offer great homes at a lower price per square foot than nearby houses in The Heights while remaining in close proximity to the best that the area has to offer.
With the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and CHI St. Vincent Hospital nearby, job opportunities and high-quality health care options are plentiful.
Shopping centers here draw patrons from all over the city. The three-level Park Plaza Mall, Midtowne Little Rock and Park Avenue at different corners of the intersection of Markham Street and University Avenue create a triple threat for the neighborhood. These centers lure residents to shop national chains like Dillard’s, Bath & Body Works, Dolce Vita Men, Eddie Bauer, Pandora, The Container Store, Ulta, Brighton and more. Grab a mouth-watering burger at Big Orange, and try their popular shake of the month that’s guaranteed to appease any sweet tooth. Make a reservation at Trio’s Restaurant for their famous Voodoo Pasta and stop by 7 Brew Drive-thru Coffee for a caffeine pick-me-up on the go. For all your department store needs, Target is located in the heart of Midtown, just off the highway for easy access.
Other Midtown staples include the beloved Little Rock Zoo and War Memorial Stadium.

Wild About It
The Little Rock Zoo opened in 1926 when a bear and wolf were abandoned in Little Rock after a circus left town. The first buildings were constructed by the Works Progress Administration and are still in use today. Today, the Little Rock Zoo is home to more than 500 animals representing over 200 species, plus 400 insects – many of which are endangered.
