Welcome to Metro Little Rock: Riverdale

The Fold: Botanas & Bar is known for its eclectic décor and habanero queso. Pro tip: Try the spicy white cheese dip with ground bison for a delicious appetizer.
Hugging the banks of the Arkansas River, Riverdale attracts natives and tourists alike with the prospect of outdoor adventure. A day here might include a round of golf, a bike ride down the Arkansas River Trail or a stroll over the Big Dam Bridge. The Big Dam Bridge is the country’s longest pedestrian bridge, and — unlike others — it is not a retired bridge; it was built just for pedestrians!
The Arkansas River Trail is never shy of people, pets, strollers and bikes. The trail overall is an 88-mile multi-use loop, but the smaller loop that starts at the Clinton Presidential Bridge is 15.6 miles. It provides a river breeze to keep you cool in the summertime and killer views including Rebsamen Golf Course (Little Rock’s largest public golf course) and Murray Park (which contains soccer fields, archery targets, sand volleyball courts, a boat dock, dog park and pavilions).
Riverdale residents are entirely spoiled when it comes to great dining. The Razorback-famous barbeque restaurant Wrights BBQ opened its first Central Arkansas location, and has a line out the door every night. Sister restaurants Loca Luna and Red Door feature eclectic menus for any palate, and you can enjoy their brunch items on the weekends. Both restaurants are undergoing major renovations right now, and plan to open their doors in early 2026. Little Rock classics like Faded Rose Restaurant, Maddie’s place, Buffalo Grill and more can be found all right next to one another.
Luxury apartments, townhouses, condos and single-family homes of all price ranges — many with incredible views of the Arkansas River — give residents plenty to choose from. Want to drive your boat right to your doorstep? You can do that in Canal Pointe.
The thing about Riverdale is that it feels like an escape from the city even though it’s just minutes from downtown. While the neighborhood is known for being the city’s design district, you’ll still find big businesses here, too. In fact, you’ll find the world headquarters for both Dillard’s and ATA International in Riverdale.

The Big Dam Bridge is a favorite among local cyclists, runners and dog walkers. The river views from atop the bridge are truly picturesque.
