Outdoor Enthusiast: Craig Zediker

Craig Zediker
Competitive mountain biker
Biking isn’t just a Saturday afternoon activity for Craig Zediker; it’s a competitive thrill and his livelihood. He’s the co-owner of Competitive Cyclist, which retails high-end road and mountain bikes online and at a local showroom. When Zediker’s out of the office, he’s on the trail competing in local, national and international adventure races – like the Lance Armstrong-caliber Leadville 100 – on a regular basis.
How would you rate Arkansas’ trails? The biking scene is phenomenal in Arkansas because our trails are so diverse; there are little gems all through the city.
Best biking spots in central Arkansas? The Arkansas River Trail, Burns Park’s trails and the lesser-known Boyle Park trails are all great for training or recreation.
Any other recreation recommendations? In the summer, there’s a great indoor rock climbing center in Little Rock, but when the weather is right, head out to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. It’s only two hours outside Little Rock, and they have 300-plus bolted routes for sport climbing.
